Is it possible to Autostart a couple of things?

Hi, I was wondering if it was possible to do a couple of things with a HDD install of BT4B

1) Automatically login and startx? this used to be done by runlevel, but since the change to a ubuntu based system this is not the same. i have a hunch that I need to copy an s99 file from one of the /etc/rcx.d folders into one of the higher /etc/rcx.d folders (if that makes sense) but Im not sure.

2) Automatically run NetworkManager when startx runs. I have set networking to be on by default, but I still have to open a terminal and do:

NetworkManager start

for my wireless to hook up to my router
