Default prism 2 problems with bt3

i have a problem loading my symbol la-4121 prism 2.0 wifi card in bt3.i read on another post i had too manually put the drivers in the iso. here is the link to what it said:

I've got a solution for the Prism Inject problems.

The core off the problem is that the hostap included with BT3 isn't patched with the Inject patch from aircrack-ng.org

The solution is to download the BT3 Kernel files, extract them using lzm2dir kernel.lzm /

and then patch the hostap driver with the hostap-kernel-2.6.18.patch, like this: patch -Np1 -i hostap-kernel-2.6.18.patch, and then make modules && make modules_install.

Or you could just use the pre patched hostap files from:
    yousuck.dk/hostap.tar.gz

Just extract them into /lib/modules/2.6.21.5/kernel/drivers/net/wireless and replace the existing hostap folder.

i was trying it the other way by downloading the hostap.tar.gz file.i extracted the files from the iso but couldnt find the "/lib/modules/2.6.21.5/kernel/drivers/net/wireless" folder in there.does anyone know how else too replace those files?thanks

    Have a look here
    http://backtrack.offensive-security....p/Howto:Hostap

Also if you need kernel.lzm In case of using Live CD
    Download here
    then use
    lzm2dir kernel.lzm /

    Default driver is ok

hostap_cs in bt3 works fine with prism II. (Senao/Intersil).

    Maybe your chip is different.

i took the cover off and it says on the chip "harris". i searched that up and it came up with a prism chipset.i run iwconfig, but the only thing that shows up is my built in wireless card but not my pcmcia card.i was trying too get it working off that guide, but on the first part i cant find out how to view the loaded drivers.

Default old card? not really a prism chipset!

I did some research for you.

The card may well be better described as a Symbol Spectrum la-4121

This does not appear to be a prism card, rather an older card now manufactured by Motorola.

You might try ndiswrapper in your searches for a linux driver and use the Windows drivers.

I found the following links which might be of help to you.

    http://sourceforge.net/projects/spectrum24/

    which quotes also:

    All the best
