Metasploit DDOS issue (10/02/09)
Hi, currently Metasploit and various other sites are being subjected to a DDOS attack, my knowledge on linux is still small, so I was wondering if anyone would be good enough to tell me me if I can update metasploit framework 3 from the metasploit.org address which they are currently running from, and if so what command do I need to type in to do this?
I am currently trying this:
$ svn co hxxp://metasploit.org/svn/framework3/trunk/
but I dont think this is right, and it failed anyway
I have also tried svn switch to various addresses but I just get hxxp://xxxxxxx is not the same repository as hxxp://xxxxxxxx
Is there a way I can manually update, download a file and then install it? I only have the original release from BT3 USB

so you wont offer help on metasploit? which is included in the the BT3 distro, can you explain then why there are so many posts on the subject of aircrack, and milw0rm etc, arent these also items included in the distro?
I would love to know how you are supposed to get help on this forum, every time I ask something I either get a useless response like pureh@te gave or flamed to hell, what gives?
It's because the experts for metasploit are on the metasploit forums. The backtrack cd isn't meant to have it's kernel updated, that's what bt4 is for. You have to wait for a bit before your posts are moderated when you join, keeps the viagra spam down. I think that answers your questions you've posted. read this before you ask any other questions about updating metasploit blog.metasploit.com and it's probably worth just waiting until this entire episode is over until trying to update.

What gives is if you did three minutes of research on your own you would have found the answer to the question you seek.
Again it is ok to ask a question here if you do so after you have done your research. However the hard part is at times proving that you did this research.
As for complaining about the mods and other members for the answers or the lack thereof, please stop, no one really cares and it does nothing to get you the answer.

try using fast-track to update metasploit, that's always worked for me.
