    So, does the desktop remember it's settings, and can you change keyboard layout?

    In 4.1 there was huge problems with choosing keyboard map, it ended up I had to edit /etc/profile and add "setxkbmap se" but the other issue with the desktop forgetting things like icon layout, background etc, is it fixed? If not KDE 4.x is rather unuseable.

    EDIT: Did you need to upgrade GCC and the rest of the compilers?

    Ah! Now it works! Thank you.

    I thought those two packages were for international keyboard.

    Exactly, I had to do this too.
    gcc-4.2.4-i486-1.tgz
    gcc-g++-4.2.4-i486-1.tgz

    But have some trouble changing keyboard layout.

    Code:
    kcmshell keyboard_layout
    kcmshell (kdelibs): WARNING: Could not find module 'keyboard_layout'.

    Weird. Everything installed fine. Including GCC.

    Now when I use startkde I get

    $DISPLAY is not set or cannot connect to the X server

    However, fluxbox still works. Anyone have this issue?

    Fixed.

    Anyone else having this problem edit .xinitrc in your root folder and add "startkde" to the first line.
