Changing input fields

ok so sorry if this has already been posted but ive searched for it n have found nothing even tried googleing it lol...im a bit of a noob w linux but ive played with ydl on my ps3 a little n generally didnt have to hard of a time...this is my first time with bt3 tho...anytime i try to type n a new field i.e. the firefox browser it inputs everything down in the bottom of the screen (it looks like the command line maybe??) this happens with anything i try to type in not just firefox...also some apps that i open dont appear to haveany way to close them...mostly any help menus but theres been a few others...thanks for the help
