    Default Copying BT tools to kubuntu

    Is it possible to copy the pentest dir. from the live cd to kubuntu??

    Its possible but some applications may not work. If any of the applications are self contained within their directory or it is a single executable not dependent on any other files outside of the pentest directory then it might work. But if any programs rely on, for example, configuration files outside the pentest directory then this method will not work.

    It is best just to look at the wiki and download each program by itself.

    tar the folder from the *running* BT, and untar to kubuntu. Some applications (mostly wireless, some dependant on /usr/.. will not work, but many will work. Why not wait for bt4? it will be kubuntu based

    Or just apt-get install (name of app here). Most of them are in the repository.
    Of course, if you really wanted to have some fun, go to Wal-Mart late at night and ask the greeter if they could help you find trashbags, roll of carpet, rope, quicklime, clorox and a shovel. See if they give you any strange looks. --Streaker69
