Some strange problems with injection
i managed to get some new wifi card drivers, and wanted to test the aircrack suite.
So i typed at first
> airmon-ng start wlan0 10
and got this:
Interface Chipset Driver
wlan0 ath9k - [phy0]
(monitor mode enabled on mon0)
Seems to be right, this way.
At next i tried an injection:
> aireplay-ng -9 -e NETGEAR -a 00:18:4D:14:**:** mon0
02:17:07 Waiting for beacon frame (BSSID: 00:18:4D:14:**:**) on channel 10
02:17:07 Trying broadcast probe requests...
02:17:09 No Answer...
02:17:09 Found 1 AP
02:17:09 Trying directed probe requests...
02:17:09 00:18:4D:14:EA:AA - channel: 0 - 'NETGEAR'
02:17:15 0/30: 0%
Whats wrong here?
At first the script waited for frames on channel 10, but as you can see at the bottom it tried the probe requests at channel 0 ... But why?
Try manually configuring the channel by performing an
iwconfig wlan0 channel 10
iwconfig mon0 channel 10
I had a similar problem, performing those commands did the trick for me (:

Lower the injection rate would help you.
iwconfig mon0 rate 1M
aireplay-ng -9 mon0 (test and it should say injection is working if it supports!)
this problem often happen if AP is far enough from NIC range or if obstacles are in between.
