Help plz :( :( (wifi) works but dosnt

basicaly when i start backtrack 3 via live cd, i find two routers when i search however when i click refresh they disapear and it says sumthing about my wifi is turned off externaly but its not. (everthing works fine in windows the connection are weak though) plzz help. very appreciated if u reply

wireless card/usb? what kind?

i dont kno. my comp is a pavilion s7640.uk. the exact message is "radio of your wireless card seems to be turned off using an external switch on your computer
you need turn it on to use wireless network" it is a comp and i do not have a on/off button another user has had this problem sumwhere in this forum site but there wasnt anyone with a solution.
