I have downloaded the iso image before but am downloading it again but it comes in a rar with the files instead of an iso?

I have downloaded the cd image

Are you certain that you have not simply assigned iso files to open up in for example winrar by default. I know that winrar, and many other similar programs, have the option to do this, which might fool you into thinking that the file is in rar format.
