Default BT3 on vmware, which Alfa driver?

Using the Alfa 500mW USB wireless adapter. Obviously, since I havent installed the mac drivers for it, nothing shows up when i plug it in. But since I am using BT3, i should only need the linux drivers. Is there a tutorial on how to do this? Does the fact that I am running BT3 on VMWare necessitate that the macbook pro get alfa drivers installed as well? I am planning on running bridged mode. I can see how NAT mode might require the mac drivers as well. Which drivers are best?

neither does bridge mode nor NAT mode will work with linux properly if you want to do scanning and all. The only way to do it is to share it through with vmware. This will disconnect from the host and lets linux make use of it.

You won't need any drivers on mac if you make vmware use this device for the guest in which case is backtrack. Otherwise there will be NO support for either monitoring/injecting.
