vmware issue with keyboard

when i start vmware my issue is that when i make any type of key press it duplicates it
for example if type: startx

it shows ssstarrrrttttxxxxxxx

i try to compensate with using kdbrate -r 20 -d 500 but it doesn't always work any suggestions

when i use the top command i don't see the artsd process

my keyboard was acting weird also typing keys I did not press restarting the vm session cured it though

Follow the part (by pureh@te) to stop the process and then see if it works better. Then report back.
