everything works fine but

i have my router no more than 20 feet away i have an acer aspire 5720 with the atheros 5007 wireless

i have tried the injection test it says it works fine

i done the airodump-ng etc its fine gets the AP and starts writing.

i then done the aireplay-ng -3 -b etc

its reading packets fine

when i do the aireplay-ng -1 0

it will authenticate and it will work fine but not a single IV will be collected and the data bit on airodump stays at 0 so everything works but no IVS are collected



any help appreciated!!!!

That being said - Start from the beginning.

It would help greatly if you listed all the commands that you use from the beginning. If you listed the output after each command - that would be helpful also.

forgot to say im not using backtrack im using ubuntu 8.10


and i cant post output im on my other laptop at moment
anyway

i put my card in monitor mode

sudo airmon-ng stop ath0
airmon-ng start wifi0

this puts ath0 in monitor mode wifi0 i cant use..

i will then

sudo airodump-ng --channel 1 --bssid <MAK> --IVS --write /home/***

everything is fine here the beacons will keep going up

i then

aireplay-ng -3 -b <ROUTER MAK> -h <OWN MAK> ath0

from here the Read part at the bottom will go up pretty fast but the
bit in the middle ARP replies etc will stay at 0

i will then

aireplay-ng -1 0 -b <ROUTER MAK> -e <ROUTER NAME> -h <OWN MAK> <Network Card>

it will authenticate fine

but the data on airodump will stay at 0 so that means no IVS are collected as i said all injection works fine as i tried it on my brothers router and it worked great but my own router is just erm cr@p

no there was no activity on the network but when i tried my brothers router there was no activity on there anyway didnt think it would have mattered

No activity means no packets and no packets means nothing to collect. Try browsing a few websites, connect to msn or irc, view a video on youtube and then start airodump.

yeah you were right no activity done bit of surfing at same time works great

also found away to do it with out clients so all good now
