    Question can't boot

when i boot bt3 from a usb i get a black screen with nothing on it...if i try tu run it in safemode i get this:

    ..TIMER: vector=0x31 apic1=0 pin1=0 apic2=-1 pin2=-1
    ..MP-BIOS bug:8254 timer not connected to IO-APIC
...trying to set up timer (IRQ0) through the 8259A ...failed
...trying to set up timer as Virtual Wire IRQ ...failed
...trying to set up timer as ExtINT IRQ ...failed
Kernel panic - not syncing: IO-APIC + timer doesn't work! Boot with apic=debug and send a report. Ten try booting with the 'noapic' option.

i need an explanation for dummies. thank you.

    Default

When you get to the options of what mode to boot into. Try hitting tab that will stop the count down and give you a curser after some text. That is your boot line. Add a space followed with noapic. I have the same thing as well as with any other distro of linux I was able to solve the issue and add it to my boot line in ubuntu but not in bt3 yet.

    Cool

You need to add the noapic to the end of your boot line in the syslinux.cfg file. It is located in boot/syslinux/syslinux.cfg
    Hope it helps.
