    Default add application to Backtrack

Does anyone know how to use an application like OpenOffice to backtrack can add?
This package manager Gslapt is probably only there to update already installed packages, is not it?

    Bin Linux beginners.

    1. Goto OpenOffice download site.
    2. Download OpenOffice.
    3. Follow installation instructions.

Gslapt/slapt-get can be used both to update old and install new programs.

    Tron,

I'm running BT3F and installed slapt-get. I updated then upgraded.

But for the life of me can't install VLC player. Could you outline the steps involved please.
