HELP! No interface Atheros AR9285

I have Atheros AR9285 and im using Backtrack 4. When i type in airmon-ng, it doesn't show my interface. I've read about ath9k but still unsure of what exactly it does. I believe its a driver for linux? Your help will be greatly appreciated!!

My internet works fine, i can get on firefox in backtrack4 just fine, but do i still need to install the drivers? I'm running vmware by the way.

is it showing your device there

Try typing airmon-ng start wlan0 or airmon-ng start eth0
