Installing NIC - Linux Kernel Source not found !!
I recently installed BT3 - its awesome.
Everything seems to work fine, except, that I'm unable to get my NIC working.
Its a Silan SC92031 -
I also got a CD with drivers, for both linux and windows.
The Linux drivers contain three files
readme file says to compile the '.c' file and generate an '.o' file. I used this
and it returns an error. I don't know what should I do. PLease guide me..
I downloaded the latest drivers for the current 2.6.x kernel and also googled how to compile..
but after using this command I get
Linux Kernel source not found......so I'm unable to make a "sc92031.ok" file..
You need to grab the kernel sources lzm:
w w w.offensive-security.com/kernel.lzm
Once you finish downloading it, cd to it and use the command to extract the sources to the right directories. Next time you should check the wiki, or search here, they have a lot of great info available.
lzm2dir kernel.lzm /
Yeah I regret not searching before posting, actually BT3 installation went so smooth that I just got over-excited...
