When you load fast-track.py and go on to the webpage you can update it which in turn updates metasploit etc.
I'd like to know if theres a way to update as well.
Thanks

Hi al. i have just setup my laptop to dualboot with Windows and Backtrack 3 final. I just wanted to know is there a way to update everything? like in debian i would do something like "apt-get upgrade update" or in fedora "yum update" so is there something similar in backtrack?

There is slapt-get, but I'd deal with it with great care since bt is optimized and maybe some tools will not work anymore if you update for example a package the tool is depending on.
Doesn't have to be that way but it's possible......
Just update single packages.
Don't eat yellow snow
Just don't just the upgrade option in apt.
