Where is the file being stored? Does spoonwpa give you the option (check the usage) to specify a different output file?
i'm wondering how i can recover the .cap file once spoonwpa finds the handshake, so i can just use aircrack-ng to crack the cap with another wordlist and skip the handshake capturing process? i ask so i don't always have to keep spoonwpa open.

Have you peeked in the spoonwpa directory?
