have you up it ?
what says this command :
ifconfig -a
do you see eth0 ?
try to ifconfig eth0 up
Not sure how to trouble shoot this. In backtrack 2 my ethernet port (eth0) worked just fine, however, in BT3 - it doesn't even see it.
I have a ASUS f3 laptop, wireless works the same as in BT2 (it has to be on at boot for it to see it).
Ideas?

Watch your back, your packetz will belong to me soon... xD

Already tried that, eth0 isn't in the list. wlan0 (it claims this is ethernet) is in the list, but ifconfig wlan0 up says it's 'no such device'.
OK - I installed the network driver I was missing (since BT3 apparently doesn't come with one for my NIC card) ... but it won't grab an IP. I'll into this further.
