How to install ALFA RTL8187L BT3 booted on MacBook?

Hello to everybody on this fascinating website.

I have just got around to using Backtrack 3 on my MacBook, by loading it from a CD, and holding down C at start-up. I have an ALFA AWUS036E wireless card ('the card'), without the capability of the 'H' model, but a worthy card nevertheless, so I am told.

I would like to know how I can install the card so that it can be recognised and used with BT3. When I have BT3 loaded up it does not pick up on anything inserted into the USB port. In particular have I erred in installation? I am unsure if it is necessary to partition my hard disk as well as booting from CD. The driver for the card do come with the installation CD, but obviously I cannot very well insert a CD as the drive is occupied by the BT3 ISO CD.

I am running Leopard 10.5.5, and my MacBook is the 4,1 version.

Hi guys, has anyone got some advice to offer?

I have tried installing BT3 with Parallels, but when it loads up all that is produced is a black flashing picture, and there is no user-friendly desktop to be seen.

To simplify my issue, how can I get BT3 whilst booted from CD to recognise my external wireless card?
