BackTrack 4 AWUS036H no internet

Hello ,

Connected successfully to my unsecured network and everything is working just fine , 1 minute later no internet still connected but

cannot open any page am using AWUS036H BackTrack 4

Any tips?

hey ,,, can u elaborate a bit plse like what sort of commands u issued and stuff like that..

root@root# ifconfig wlan0 up
root@root# /etc/init.d/wicd start

then everything goes just fine and connected successfully via Wicd and have internet access , after 1 min i can't open anypage
and ping gateway print out %100 loss

using CLI
ifconfig wlan0 up
iwconfig wlan0 mode managed essid <network>
dhclient wlan0

else
from terminal type wicd
than open wicd wireless manager & connect to the network.
if still problem persists the USB Dongle is faulty
same happened with me,I have 2 dongles out of that one got same problem.

Mine works fine, but you can try changing the drivers.

oot@bt:~# airdriver-ng unload 36
Driver "Realtek rtl8187" specified for unloading.
Unloaded driver "Realtek rtl8187" successfully
root@bt:~# airdriver-ng load 35
Driver "Realtek rtl8187" specified for loading.
Loaded driver "Realtek rtl8187" successfully

and got the internet without hanging up , but noticed that under this driver Wicd scan only Unsecured/WEP networks + its too low signal !

can anyone explain shortly why ? and whats the different between these drivers ? which one should i pick up for monitor/manage mode ?
