    Default Kernel Panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs...

    Hello,
    i have built a new kernel, and when it boots, i get this error:

    Kernel Panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(3,1)

    I have no idea, what i have done wrong.

    Hope You can help me.

    Hello,
    are you sure u set the right root partition in /etc/lilo.conf? and did "lilo" afterwards? If so, make sure you picked the right kernel modules. You can find the ones you need under Filesystem.

    omg i forgot to lilo the lilo.conf...
