Backtrack4 VS lan card Intel pro 100

hi every body

i have a pb with backtrack 4
my system can't detect any networking interface only eth0 loop interface
i have an intel Pro 100 LAn card,
when i tape "modprobe e100" my computer display an error message ' module e100 not found'
when i tape : find /lib/modules/'uname-r' -name e100\*
the systeme found 2 modules :
e1000e*
and e1000*
what can i do ?

Have you attempted bringing up eth0 after logging in?

ifconfig eth0 up
dhclient eth0

This of course assumes you have a DHCP server that will respond...

Also, the following command will assist in determining whether your device is detected or not:

lspci

[ruban258]

i have a smiler problem here with same LAN card.


the interface is detected with IFCONFIG -a

but the problem is when i type

# ifconfig eth0 up

i get an erorr:

SIOCSIFFLAGS : no Such file or directory..


#modls shows the e100 is loded.

i can give the LAN device ip address and every thing works until i make it active.


what is wrong here??

help me please..
