I have installed BT3 with persistent change succesfulyl to my SDHC card, thanks to the help of pureh@te and others in this forum. It works just fine on my Eee 900.

The menu selection changes are as follow:

LABEL xconf1
MENU LABEL BT3 Graphics mode (KDE)
KERNEL /boot/vmlinuz
APPEND changes=/dev/sdb2 vga=0×317 initrd=/boot/initrd.gz ramdisk_size=6666 root=/dev/ram0 rw autoexec=xconf;kdm

So now I got the Eee 1000H. I inserted the SDHC card but turns out the Eee 1000H have issue with KDE. Googling the issue I found out that I have to use VESA mode

So I tried that, and BT3 boot up just fine, but no persistent change. No worries, I will edit the menu as before. So now the VESA menu becomes this:

LABEL startx
MENU LABEL BT3 Graphics mode (VESA KDE)
KERNEL /boot/vmlinuz
APPEND changes=/dev/sdb2 vga=0×317 initrd=/boot/initrd.gz ramdisk_size=6666 root=/dev/ram0 rw autoexec=kdm

So I just added the changes=/dev/sdb2 line. Problem is, when I selected VESA with the above change, BT3 will NOT boot to GUI. It'll go to the command prompt. Typing "startx" gave a bunch of errors.

I am wondering why is that, because nothing changes significantly between the 2. Any ideas?
