Iv heard that BT3 is NOT supported here, try to use BT4, And BT4 need a DVD
I have downloaded Backtrack 3 iso and burned the iso file to a CD
When i try to boot backtrack from CD , the screen hangs @
looking for data directory
please wait
Fatal error occurred - BT3 data not found
You may be using an unsupported boot device (eg SCSI or old PCMCIA)
Workaround: copy the directory BT3 from your boot device from your boot device to an IDE/SATA disk eg. to mnt/hda1/BT3
or c:/BT3 , then try to boot again
1- I made sure that the iso file is not courrupted by md5 checking .
2-I reburned the iso file on a new CD @ lower speed 16x and
3- I have BT 4 live CD and it boots normally so there is no issue of support .
4- I want to boot backtrack 3 from the live CD ( no installation)
I need to understand the cause of such fatal error plz.
thanks in advance![]()
