sound problem with BT3

BT2 had no sound problems on my 'puter. Now, when I run kismet, no sound. No sound from tunes at SomaFM.

I tried

bt~#modprobe snd_hda_intel

then try alsaconfig or alsamixer to unmute the levels

as suggested by PureHate, but still cannot get sound. I know sound works as the startup file plays and if I access a web page with video, I get the video and sound.
