    Default TP-LINK TL-WN821N vs kismet

    hello!
I have the above adapter (TP-LINK TL-WN821N usb adapter) and trying to run kismet.
I did the kismet.config and added under the source command : madwifi_g,wan0,kismet cause I saw in kismet documentation that other tp link devices use the madwifi.so when i run sudo kismet i get fatal errors all the time.
I tried different sources like ath5k etc getting with kismet different errors.
I installed the card via ndiswrapper and added the modules.

Is there any suggestions to make it run?
    plz a little help
thanks in advance and sorry for my ignorance.

Your problem is that the madwifi drivers do not currently support USB based cards with atheros chipset, which is what your card sadly uses. It is neither possible to get a wireless card into monitor mode using ndiswrapper. Due to this I believe that you are out of luck getting your card to work with kismet at the time being.

Supposing that the tp-link is not working with kismet can I use other applications to crack a WEP key?
And if not I'm trying to connect to a open wireless connection where I can connect in windows can see in wlassistant in backtrack but can't connect to it in BT.
Is there something wrong with the installation of the tp-link drivers
    ?
is there another way to install the device correctly?
    thanks again
