BT2 & BT3 switching to monitor mode - Netgear PCI WG311T

I have a Netgear PCI WG311T and can't seem to get it into monitor mode in BT2 or BT3.

I'm using the following command ... "iwconfig ath0 mode Monitor" ... Am I missing something? The error I am seeing is "Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) : Set failed on device ath0 ; Invalid argument".

Any suggestions?

I have the same card and have had issues with the same error while trying to switch to monitor mode. I suggest you take a look at ez-pawn:

coded by shamanvirtuel, a member here. A really fantastic tool for noobs like us. One of the nice additions is a monitor mode tool for your card. Make sure you set your default card before you start messing with things.

The one thing I'm still trying to figure out is how to get back to managed mode from the toolbar. If you figure it out, lemme know. Otherwise, do what I do. Open a terminal window and type

#ifconfig wifi0 up
#wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev wifi0

then check to make sure you're bck in managed mode with ifconfig.

P.S.- if someone knows the commands for switching back and forth between managed and monitor mode, let us know!

Should be able to

wlanconfig ath0 destroy
wlanconfig ath1 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode monitor
ifconfig ath1 up

????

i ahve the same problem but i have netgearWG111v2 So if there is any solution please???
