GUI Display problem on BackTrack USB - Black screen
I just recently made a usb live for my old pc. everything seems to start up fine with the usb but when i type startx the screen goes black and the monitor goes off. but i can still hear the music when the program starts up any help is appreciated
system specs
2.5 gb ram
OC P4 @ 3.9GHz
Nvidia 8600Gt

Common Knowledge: Username, "root". Password, "toor". "startx" gives you a GUI, and "fix-vesa" will fix BT if you have no GUI. Start networking with "/etc/init.d/networking start" and check your IP settings with "ifconfig -a". "dhclient" will automatically use DHCP for your IP. Google is your friend.

Try and install nvidia drivers. Google should be able to give you some guidance on that.
