Sounds to me that it's not liking your ati card, have you tried any of the other graphics modes compiz, flux safe mode ect
I need help and advise on this problem:
I have a dell 6400 E1505, T5200, ati X1400, dell 1390 wireless card. My problem is: when I boot from the BT3 CD, after login then type Startx I got this Error message:
Fatal server error:
no screen found, giving up
Xinit: connection reset by peer (errno 104): unable to connect to X server
Xinit: no such process (errno:3): server error
then I test that CD in my old P3 PC and it boot in BT3 fine (only never ask for login)
I did test the BT2 CD on my dell notebook and it boot in fine also
Can someone please advise why can't I boot into BT3 CD. I'm very new to this. I have spend the last couple hours to read many idea in the forum but no help.
TIA !

Don't discount Windows, I would be a poor man without it ;)
Try using the boot option "VESA KDE". Others may work but that's the one I use with my E1505 and haven't had any problems.
First of all I would like to say thank you for all you guys advise !!!
I start in VERSA KDE and it went into backtrack no problem. The only thing I realized is it did not ask to login at all, is this normal?
Sorry for being a newbie
