BackTrack 3 resolution issue

hey, im runniing ubuntu hardy
whenever i try booting backtrack 3
the resolution is to big and it goes off my screen
so i cant c the internet icon and all the other icons to the left....
ive tried manual adjusting with my screnn/monitor and auto adjust
how to fix?
