No display - black screen
I am using BT3 on CD. After the booting menu showing the different options, the screen display Loading boot/vmlinux and stop on a black screen without any error.
I have tested on an other computer my CD and the problem did not occured.
I have tested all of the options:
- BT3 Graphics Mode (KDE)
- BT3 Graphics Mode (Flux)
- BT3 Graphics Mode (VESA KDE)
- BT3 Text mode Frame buffer
each gives me a black screen.
I have tested with previous version, BT2 and the display problem did not occurred on my computer, boot is correct.
I suppose this is a BT3 bug.
My graphic card is a NVIDIA 8500 GT.

acpi=off
when you're booting up, and you come to the screen where it gives you options on how you'd like to boot... ex: kde, flux, etc...
have text mode highlighted, then hit tab, then hit space then type in acpi=off then hit enter
it'll bring you to aother screen the username will be root and password is toor
type in startx then hit enter.. that should work
get back to me and tell me how it went

try it with noapic too and remove the xconf from autoload.

Corrected
Yes it works with acpi=off.
Thank you for your help.

Just burned his ISO
Ok I tried what was mentioned above and I can't get it to work. I am using a Compaq Presario v6000. I tried acpi=off, pci=noacpi, bt acpi=off (as mentioned on the wiki). And it looks like my laptop is not on the 'supported' list. But I figure there has to be some way to get it working.

Ok this is how I got it to work:
NOTE: The following will only work if you have the laptop plugged in for some reason.
At the graphical menu choose the first option hit tab, get rid of the autoexec=xconf and replace it with 'bt acpi=off' (without quotes). Press enter, you still get the black screen so tap the power button and it should continue through the booting process, then login, then type startx and it should work.
