Default Backtrack not picking up wireless card!!

Hi im fairly new to bactrack. I went out the other day an puchased a LinksysWUSB54G ver 4 and have installed it. I have an advent 7113 running on windows vista it works allrite on that. I then start VMware an load up backtack 2 which is running linux in my hdd NOT on live disc. I go to konsole an type iwconfig -a an it brings up eth0 an lo. (Is eth0 my wireless card?).

Ive been searching an i still cant hook up my wireless card 2 backtrack. I know that VMware doesint let most wireless cards through unless there usb which mine is. Would be very grateful if someone came with a solution for me.
    Thanks...

try booting backtrack inside vmware and THEN plugging in your usb.

yeah ive tried that and its still not working!! But wen i type in ifconfig -a in konsole it brings up an eth0 and a lo. So thats alrite then i type in ifconfig eth0 up 2 gt it runnin. Then wen i type in iwconfig eth0 mode monitor its says

    Error for
wireless request "set mode" (8B06) :
Set failed on device eth0 ; operation not supported.

And when i type in iwconfig it says
    lo no wireless extensions
    eth0 no wireless extensions

Ive been trying to sort this for days and cant seem to. So if any 1 can help that would be a bonus.
    Thanks
