I tried that - i got error - driver name not recognised - and then a list of supported drivers - rt73 isn't listed - however the dongle i have is supposed to have be rt2501 chipset... I'm soooo confuseedd!!!

Doesn't sound like you're using the latest version of lorcon.

I checked the lorcon directory for drivers labelled rt73 and found that I did have them. Could it possibly be some association flaw in airpwn? Would that be fixable?

Do you have the lorcon folder inside the airpwn folder?
I haven't tried airpwn in quite a while, but I think you need lorcon in the airpwn folder.
Just noticed that you have another thread concerning airpwn. Are you talking about the "no compatability 1.85" error or this error

I think there is a post on the forum concerning the first error, try searching through the airpwn posts. I never got either one so I really can't help you out there.
Compatability error 1.85 - tried to install berkeley db but was to no avail
what hardware are you running? what version of BT3?
