You have an atheros based card so when ever it says something like ath0 there are talking about you
    Use the command line
To be successful here you should read all of the following.

First get the wireless to work correctly, then worry about tying that action to a Function key.

Did you pass the correct wireless parameters to the card? (SSID, IP, encryption level*, etc.?

*You may need to use the WPA Supplicant if you are using WPA or WPA2 for your encryption.

yes i did , i had to f2 at boot and enable ath0.

update : solved well almost , i can turn of the wifi with the following commands but i can not turn off the little light , but i don't think that takes much power. I am still
trying to find a way to set up the hot keys for sound and contrast but that can wait.

ifconfig "ath0" up (bring up specified interface)
ifconfig "ath0"down (take down specified interface)

there is a ubuntu .sh file for hot keys but i don' t think that will work .Some hotkeys
do already work like brightness and external monitor .

many thanxs to Thorn and archangel.amael's
