    Default All sorted now

Sorry iv managed to do this now, it was saving the lilo.config file to the root of the backtrack install instead of the boot partition just needed to:

    mount /dev/hda2 /boot
(hda2 being my boot partition others may differ)

first then I could open and save the correct lilo.conf file and after reboot it all good.

P.S. sweet animation much better than expected great work _un|x_ recommend doing this as its much more pleasing to the eye than the dated lilo red

Default Works superbly on Bt2 Final Also

    Code:
    umount /mnt/"yourBootDevice(number)"
    mount /dev/hda(DeviceNumber) /boot
###check if boot is propperly mounted and vmlinuz is inserted or present
    ls -la /boot
    lilo -v
    Regards[/quote]

I used this method on BT3 Final on a single install and it worked fine without the modification above; however, I just wanted to point out that it also works on BT2 Final, using the code above for a dual boot with XP and BT2 (Linux).
