Well I think the way to go would be to convert the package to tgz using the following command:
    Code:
    rpm2targz skype-2.0.0.72-suse.i586.rpm
And then use pkgtool to install the package, for example using this command:
    Code:
    installpkg skype-2.0.0.72-suse.i586.tgz
    More on that here http://www.slackware.com/config/packages.php

This is so easy a caveman can do it. Go to www.skype.com and download the Dynamic Static OSS version. Copy that file to your /usr/share/ folder. Go to the /usr/share/ folder and do a tar xjvf skype_static_blah_blah.tar.bz2. Now go to /usr/sbin/ Do a ln -s /usr/share/skype_static_blah_blah/skype skype . Now whenever you type skype it starts up skype. See, easy peasy. Now to just get the camera running on my eee.
Of course, if you really wanted to have some fun, go to Wal-Mart late at night and ask the greeter if they could help you find trashbags, roll of carpet, rope, quicklime, clorox and a shovel. See if they give you any strange looks. --Streaker69

A third party security audit is the IT equivalent of a colonoscopy. It's long, intrusive, very uncomfortable, and when it's done, you'll have seen things you really didn't want to see, and you'll never forget that you've had one.

Hey, I got yelled at for having links in my sig. He has freaking pictures! Now if they were pictures of bouncing boobs, the mods might look the other way...
