Default CardBus reader in 3.5" drive bay problematic?

    Hello,

rather than a PCI CardBus Reader at the rear of a PC I would like to install a CardBus reader in a 3.5" (front) drive bay (in order to be able to in to use a Proxim 8470 card a in PC tower).
But according the following link, CardBus readers are unlikely to work properly in a front bay (due to the (too) long signal cable :-)

What are your experiences with CardBus readers in a front bay?

Any help is appreciated very much. Thank you!

I don't really see how this is related to BackTrack, but I have heard this same advice against using CardBus readers in a front bay before.
