    Default xorg.conf problems

    Hi,

I just installed backtrack 2 on my Desktop PC but i can't seem to configure the xorg.conf to display for 1680 x 1050.

    Here is the xorg.conf:

    Section "Module"
Load "dbe" # Double buffer extension
    SubSection "extmod"
Option "omit xfree86-dga" # don't initialise the DGA extension
    EndSubSection

    Load "type1"
    Load "freetype"
    #Load "speedo"

    Load "glx"

    EndSection

    Section "Files"

As you can see I have added the modes but believe I need to change the refresh rates.
I have looked through the monitors documentation and think I have found it but it doesn't seem to work anyway!

Also i have an NVidia Geforce 7300 LE graphics card

Any help on correcting this issue would be greatly appreciated,

    Dave

    --Edit--

I can startx and it defaults to mode 1024x768 with three other available modes. 800x600, 640x480 and 640x400

I'm not sure the vesa drivers will support that.

Have you tried it with the Nvidia driver?

The VesaFB that is in BT2 does not support such a high resolution the highest you can get is, 1280X1024 with 16M colors. BT2 comes w/ VesaFB 2.0 you will need 3.0 in order to get that high of a resolution.
For more info on vesafb see here:

Maybe you can log your resolution for the future reference of others?

Did you upgrade to vesaFB3.0 or install Nvidia driver, etc?
