    Default New Konsole window on VM Ware

    Hello, i have Backtrack4 running on VMWare image and need open new Konsole window /2 active windows/, how can i do it?

    I am not sure if i understood your question.

    i assume you typed: root <enter> toor <enter> startx <enter> to login succesfully.

    after x fired up, click the fifths icon from the lower left (black terminal symbol).
    now we got our terminal session.
    by clicking the symbol left to "Shell" you get additional shell "windows"/sessions.

    hope that helps. if not try to describe your problem more understandable.

    Alt+F2 (or F3, F4 ...) will give you a new tty session.
    Is there a reason why you are not using the X window system (startx)?

    As has been previously posted, start the X server, and run Konsole from the command line, using icons or through the menu system.
