BT3 and VMware - drive sharing & dhcp issues
This has probably ben asked before but;
1. i have booted BT3 into VMWare Workstation, should i be able to see sda1 of mu laptop?
2. when i run dhcpd eth0 it says the file in /etc/dhcpd.conf so i created a file called, dhcpd.conf and put it into /etc but don't know what to put in the text file, any ideas?
1) No, if windows is your host it will need sharing and i believe there are options to change in VMware too
2) Not a clue
firstly sorry about the thread title, my bad!
i'll have a look at the vmware sharing thread! thanks!
lastly; when i run dhcpd eth0, i get the following error:
can't open /etc/dhcpd.conf. No such file or directory
So if i create a file called dhcpd.conf and place it in /etc i just don't know what to put into that file?
a work around for me is manually assigning a IP address and GW.
if i type ifconfig eth0 192.168.1.109/24 i get the following error:
SIOCSIFNETMASK: cannot assign requested address
although i noticed one thing while looking at vmware, down the bottom right hand corner of vmware where you get the little icons, floppy, cd-rom etc, the one that looks like the network card has a red X next to it. I have checked ipconfig on the laptop and it seems to have an ip address for the vm adapter, but if i right click that icon and select "connect" it says:
failed to connect to virtual device Ethernet0
