I have exactly the same problem.
I can boot backtrack from USB and run it fine from the pen on my Dell mini 10v, so I'm not exactly sure where the problem originates.
Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, I am trying to get Backtrack 4 to work on my Dell 10V netbook. I am able to get into the desktop only on the 1st login reboot. If I reboot again I get errors regarding video resolution. The netbook supports 1024x576 resolution. I currently run Ubuntu on it without issue.
Also note It installs fine but never recognizes the builtin broadcom chipset wireless card which isn't my main problem because I have a sub IOGEAR wifi card (atheros chipset) that I can use.

I managed to resolve this by getting rid of my Ubuntu installation and installing BT4 only using my live CD. Seems to work fine for me now.
