Do you actually log in with root/toor and then when you startx you get the blank screen?
Unable to load BT3 on Compaq
i dont really know what to search for so ill probably get flamed but i was wondering what i would have to do to get my laptop up and running my problem is when i try to RUN the LIVE CD with KDE it goes all the way upto the logon screen and all i can see is a mouse cursor then the computer reboots
does this mean i might have to install in text mode???
i have a compaq 6719NR anyone else have this issue care to point me in the right direction for a fix

no it would just get to that point of logging in with ROOT/TOOR and the screen would go black and eventually reboot if i used the KDE mode using the TEXT MODE everything booted up fine now i just need to find out what kind of ATHEROS DRIVERS i needOriginally Posted by pureh@te
I think this can be closed found out i have Atheros AR5006EG and all is well
