    Default [essid] lenght 0

    Hi,
    I can see <lenght 0> in the column "ESSID".

    No result with google.
    Does someone explain me ?

    How coule i see an hidden essid ?

    I precise i have <lenght 0> and <lenght 6> for example

    For the <lenght 6> essid, i could unserstand that is a hidden essid with 6 strings of character. But why 0 ?

    Turn off hide essid in your router configuration page.

    Let whatever program you're using run for a while and it should eventually pick it up.

    Just for shits and kicks..I have named my network <lenght 6> before to **** with my BT2 hacker buddy of mine. Its been fun watching him scratch his head and trying to figure out why he cant Kismet, Airodump, MK2 or mk3 my box..lol

    I've seen this it usually happens when your too far from the AP and have week signal as soon as i got closer it found the essid

    I have tested this out my linksys router

    SECOND EDITION : there's a dedicated tool for decloaking hidden essid in bt2

    please search !!!

    btw, xploitz....if your essid is not really hidden...but just playing with its name....the decloaking tool will find in 1 secs...."ESSID seems not to be hidden....ESSID is....."
