    I have an hp Pavilion dv8000 that booted & ran BT2 live distro well but flopped after installing it on an ext3 partition created on HDB it sees no peripherals and gives an error message:

    "Warning the boot sector and the map file are on diffeent discs"

    Im thinking my partitions might need revision.Could you advise us what partitions you show on your laptop- as a guide to helping a reinstall?
