Default problem with intel pro 394bg in backtrack4 vmware

    hi there
I installed backtrack4 on vmworkstation and it doesn't seem to detect my intel 3945bg driver so if any help about how to install it or configure it would be very useful
    thanks

Virtual machines do not recognize internal wireless as a wireless device. You need a usb wifi card to utilize the wifi tools in backtrack via VMware. Your wifi card is read as a wired or eth0 or eth1 device.

VMware won't recognize the PCI hardware from the host computer. You can't use your 3945 wifi card with a virtual machine. VMware will only recognize USB devices so you can use it with the guest virtual machine. You have different ways to fix this:

-keep using your virtual machine, but get yourself a good USB wifi card, like for example the well known Awus036H
-install BT4 on your computer (a real hard disk install)
-use a live DVD or a live USB
