I end up reviewing about 85% of the documents my group and extended group (sales etc) prepare before they go out to clients. It's amazing some of the useless incomprehensible crud I see people trying to get away with

I know I seem harsh in some of my replies. SORRY! But if you're doing something illegal or posting something that seems to be obvious BS I'm going to call you on it.
My wife is a professional technical writer and I showed that to her, and she laughed and then agreed, the manuals should be better. But, it doesn't matter, people still won't read them. A third party security audit is the IT equivalent of a colonoscopy. It's long, intrusive, very uncomfortable, and when it's done, you'll have seen things you really didn't want to see, and you'll never forget that you've had one.
