Default HOWTO: get intel PRO 4965 not ro freeze up aircrack

I'm still having minor issues with this so u might not want to do it yet.
the thing is it worked yesterday and now its failing again.

I'm gonna do a quick rewrite of the guide on how i got it to work.

first update your kernel to 2.6.23.14
Make sure you have mac80211 set to install.

once you installed your new kernel you can test this by typing
    Code:
    modprobe 80211
if this returns no errors your good to go.

    next go to the intellinuxwireless.org
and donwload the ucode file for iwl4965 it's there somewhere.

place this file in the /lib/firmware folder

download the file from this post
    tinyshell.be/aircrackng/forum/index.php?topic=2898.msg20609#msg20609

    it should be named iwlwifi4965-injection.tar.bz2

this is a version of iwlwifi allready patched to let the 4965 work.

just unarchive it and then make and make install it.
somethimes he gives an error after the first make. just make it again and it should work.

reboot and check if your wireless card is there.

put your card in monitor mode and run the test.

since i can 't post links yet just swap the xx to tt in the link... DURRDURR

The succeses have been limited but aparantly some people have got it to work, this assures iwl4965 will be supported in BT3 final for sure.
So if you don 't feel like compiling your own kernel just be patient and good things will come to you.
