I have one at my office that strips the password out.
A third party security audit is the IT equivalent of a colonoscopy. It's long, intrusive, very uncomfortable, and when it's done, you'll have seen things you really didn't want to see, and you'll never forget that you've had one.

I have used one in the past that recovers the password in a couple of seconds, if it is legit to post it, I can remember the name of it and find it amongst my toolkit, then I will put that one up too.
It's good to have several options.

    http://www.straxx.com/excel/password.html

I use it whenever I need to remove a password from an excel spreadsheet.
I like the bleeding edge, but I don't like blood loss
