USB Boot Command Not Found? HELP!!!

I got the USB version of BackTrack 3 and it booted fine until the log in screen. I logged in a root with the password toor.

Then I type in startx to start running it but it told me command not found.
So I tried flux and again it told me command not found.
I tried all the commands and it tells me that the commands are found.

What should I do?
